Simon Gianoutsos

Me in a happy mood :)

Yep, that's me alright! I completed my BCMS in 1995, at The University of Waikato,in the Computer Science department,in New Zealand. I was a fool and went back and did a MCMS. My thesis was to do with an investigation of Groupware support for a World Wide Web (WWW) browser. My browser was titled 'World Wide Web for Workgroups' (W4).

Inbetween by BCMS and MCMS I was involved in a project funded by the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology(FoRST), titled Improved Computer Supported Cooperative Work Systems. As part of this we implemented a electronic version of the paper-based sticky notes. In 1996 I was employed as a Graduate Assistant by the Computer Science Department. In short this means, that I got to pester first year students.

My Life: Born in Wellington, lived in Tawa (Wellington) most of my life, drunk (I mean studied) in Hamilton for five years, then on to Auckland.

In 1995 and 1996 I was in the Human Computer Interaction and Software Development Laboratory (HCI for short) in G1.32.

I currently live in Auckland and work at Ernst & Young in their Management Consulting Division. I am part of their technology enablement group, and predominantly do work in the area of databases.
